Sacred Body: Profile of Stacey Ramsower

Stacey Ramsower combines a myriad of skills and knowledge in postpartum care, holistic bodywork, Aryuveda, and so much more. Even through our Zoom meeting (during quarantine), her compassion, empathy, intelligence, experience, and inner light shine through. I am thrilled to introduce you to Stacey and support  her offerings.

What is the mission of your offerings?

The Mission of Sacred Body is to re-connect women with the innate wisdom of their bodies so they can live, love, and create in power. I offer hormonal / reproductive health and sex coaching as well as Ayurvedic perinatal care.

What makes the business unique?

My business is unique because of the weaving of elements – Ayurveda, Somatic Experiencing, Yoga, Tantra, lived experience! I offer women a safe container for personal excavation and a steady presence as they work out their own next steps. I pride myself in my ability to distill the sometimes “lofty” teachings into a digestible tonic.

I also don’t know anyone else out there linking a woman’s birth experience (experience of being born,) relationship to food, sexuality and self-expression to her hormonal health and sense of personal power.

Please tell our readers more about yourself that can help us see how wonderful and unique you are.

I began teaching Yoga when I was twenty years old. I was living in LA at the time, and yoga became my anchor amidst the swirl of self-doubt and anxiety manifesting in disordered eating and binge-drinking. Though it took many years and countless co-dependent relationships (and blackouts) to get there, eventually I got sober and dug into the deeper, ancestral threads of my pain. Then, the real test came. Within six months, I lost all of my possessions (except for a toothbrush and a change of clothes) in Hurricane Harvey, had a miscarriage and discovered a deep betrayal in my marriage. In the wake of everything being taken away that I thought would keep me safe, I pivoted my entire life toward my health and healing.

I studied Ayurveda, postpartum care, Somatic Sex Education and internal pelvic bodywork. I landed in my body and took responsibility for my well-being in a whole new way – with love, compassion and wise counsel from other women. I gave birth at home to my son in 2019 and am expecting another child in 2021. I am pursuing a PsyD in Clinical Psychology and I am in the process of creating a Childbirth Education curriculum rooted in Somatics, Ayurveda and the principles of nonviolent communication. My passions include dance, good food and love making, and my favorite thing to do is teach / remind women how f***ing incredible their bodies are.

What services do you offer?

Currently, I offer virtual coaching sessions and classes. Women can work 1:1 with me to address their relationship to food, sex, fertility, birth support, pregnancy loss support, and postpartum care. I interweave Ayurvedic principles and food protocols into every session, as well as guided Somatic practices.

I offer in-person bodywork sessions in the style of Tami Kent’s Holistic Pelvic Care. These sessions can address our patterns around consent, experiences of trauma (sex, birth, injury,) scar tissue, pelvic pain, arousal challenges and enabling deeper connection to one’s body (no small thing!)
