Yoga for Healthy Aging
If you are a day older than yesterday, you have been given the gift of aging!
My classes are for those interested in learning how yoga can be employed for wellness and a quality “health span”.
See the schedule page for current public offerings. Don’t hesitate to contact me for inquiries and more information.
My approach is to help you be confident and empowered by practicing how to: improve balance, strength in your muscles and bones, flexibility and agility. You will also learn to manage stress through the relaxation and breathing practices of yoga.
There are options for everyone. I’m a firm believer in my motto: “It’s YOUR Yoga”.
My teaching is healthy aging and osteoporosis-informed. I focus on improving strength, balance, relaxation and mindfulness.
The content is a combination of yoga and other multimodal practices. We sometimes use resistance bands as props for added strength! I weave my knowledge and practice as a BoneFit ™ Professional, Yoga for Healthy Aging, and NASM certified Senior Fitness Specialist into my classes.
Six factors contributing to improved balance are described here.

Chair Yoga
Chair Yoga combines seated yoga stretches, breath-work and meditation introduction with optional standing poses, but always with a chair to hold onto. You will not need to get up and down from the floor.

Hi David, Thank you for checking. I integrate breath practices into my asana classes. My friend/teacher Chris Coniaris with whom I’ve studied for years does offer pranayama/meditation usually through https://www.dayafoundation.org/pranayama-and-meditation.html
